Contemplation by LindelCaine Contemplation by LindelCaine
A male Snow Leopard watching the world ...

Beautiful and elusive, Snow Leopards are found in the rugged mountains of twelve countries across Central Asia. It is estimated that only between 4,000 and 6,500 of these endangered animals are left in the wild. Snow Leopards are perfectly adapted for the cold, barren landscape of their high altitude home, however, human threats, such as poaching, and loss of habitat have created an uncertain future for these wonderful animals.

Yes, he was a wonderful big cat, and because of his fur my personal name for this image is "Fluffy"... though he was not to be cuddled, such a powerful hunter must be treated with respect from a distance and protected from those who would end the lives of Snow Leopards to take and sell their beautiful fur.

I understand, no matter how beautiful or cute it is, his nature will be always the same...
Majestic creature...

Yes,.. just think domestic cat, wild and much larger. Though as far as I know, in the wild, there are no known attacks of Snow Leopards on humans, - mostly, they try to keep away from us. :rose:

That's interesting that you should mention this, for I met with a BBC documentary team, some years ago,  and they saw my images of snow leopards and suggested they would be good for the BBC Wildlife magazine, but I had no chance at the time to follow this up. As the images are film, I plane to now use them, once they are all scanned and prepared etc., to raise awareness and to help with the conservation of these endangered animals.:rose:

What a very good use for them and for the conservation they need, very powerful advocates for their realm I should think:shamrock:
